Who should attend? Current 3rd & 4th year students from nursing related disciplines.

In partnership with GCU Nursing & Community Health Department, the Careers Service would like to invite all student nurses to come along to our 3rd annual Nursing Fair!

We have 18 organisations attending, all of whom are offering a range of temporary or permanent contracts as well as fantastic on the job training opportunities at local, national and international levels.

Come along and have an informal chat about current jobs, or to find out more about the careers options, recruitment processes and training opportunities available. The organisations who are attending are:

205 Scottish Field Hospital
The Army Medical Services (AMS) Reservists are employees of NHS Scotland; same people, different environment.  Their personnel can be deployed to operations across the world providing secondary healthcare to both soldiers and civilians during conflict, peacekeeping and humanitarian operations.

Bupa
Bupa is a leading international healthcare group. They run care homes, health centres, dental centres and hospitals. They also offer personal and company health insurance and provide home healthcare, workplace health services, health assessments and chronic disease management services including health coaching.

Danshell Group

Launched in 2010 the Danshell Group has rapidly expanded with the acquisition of specialist hospitals and residential services to create a portfolio of thirty centres across Scotland and England.

Positioning themselves as a contemporary provider of health and social care for adults, the group’s extended range of services incorporates a number of key specialisms delivered by dedicated, passionate and professional care teams. Four Seasons Heath Care

Four Seasons has 350 care homes across the UK, but each one specialises in providing safe, high quality care for every resident. They offer a range of different types of care, such as nursing, residential, intermediate & specialist dementia care. Their compassionate staff supports residents and their families through every stage of care, from help with everyday living to bespoke nursing care for those who need more looking after.

Guys & St Thomas Hospital

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust includes two of London’s most famous teaching hospitals, providing patients with excellent treatment and care from two central London sites near Waterloo and London Bridge. They provide a full range of hospital services and specialist services for patients from further afield, including cancer, cardiac, kidney, women’s and orthopaedic services, and are home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. They are also part of King’s Health Partners, one of only six academic health sciences centres in the UK.

NHS – Tayside
NHS Tayside Nurse Bank provides on demand, effective, appropriately skilled staff to cover shortages within nursing and midwifery services. They currently supply registered nurses, midwives and health care assistants in a variety of clinical areas across NHS Tayside. The Nurse Bank recruits, coordinates staff, processes payment and supports workforce recruitment.

Prime Staff Recruitment – Black & Black

Black & Black Social Care & Housing has been part of Prime staff since 1998, providing us with an exciting opportunity to add to our already successful and diverse portfolio. Black & Black is a highly respected social care and housing specialist recruitment agency, with an excellent track record in the provision of social care, support workers and care assistants. Their main activity includes all fields of nursing practice in hospital, army and care homes, focusing on the private sector.

Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a registered Scottish charity that looks after the palliative care needs of people living in and around greater Glasgow. It is one organisation with many parts and one purpose – to drive improvements that support the highest possible quality of care for the people of Scotland. The hospice provides In-patient care, out-patient care and community specialist palliative care services for people with cancer and other progressive conditions within Greater Glasgow. Other services include a pain and symptom control clinic, support for families and carers, access to complementary therapies and advice and education for healthcare professionals.

Renaissance Care

Renaissance Care was first established in 1998 and has therefore many years of experience in guiding families through this process. It is a private sector organisation which provides a number of care homes through Scotland, including Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Forres, Peterhead, Blairgowrie and Musselburgh. Each home is different, offering care tailored to the needs of the individual. Most offer nursing care, including specialist units for dementia care, though some only offer residential care. With over 700 employees, including registered nurse’s, mental health nurses and many more, their main focus is on delivering personalised care to meet individual needs and requirements, whilst also protecting privacy, dignity and choice.

Royal College of Nursing

The Royal College of Nursing is the world’s largest nursing union and professional body that represents more than 435,000 nurses, student nurses, midwives and health care assistants in the UK and internationally. Their members work in a range of health care specialties and settings in the NHS and independent sectors.

Royal Naval Reserves
Serving with the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) is a unique way of life that attracts people from all backgrounds. Royal Air Force – Regular and Reserves
Today’s modern RAF is the UK’s aerial, peacekeeping and fighting force. It’s made up of impressive full-time Regulars and spare-time Reserves who come from diverse backgrounds and work side-by-side to make a difference at home and abroad. When it comes to recruitment their focus is attracting the best personnel, and ensuring they’re well taken care of during and after their service in the RAF. Royal Air Force offer 50+ roles ranging from drivers and photographers, to engineers and nurses, but the opportunity and lifestyle that comes with joining the RAF is bigger than that.

SCP Recruitment

Thistle Health Care Solutions is a private family run business which operates twelve care homes based in west central Scotland, fully-resourced to support older people with daily care needs. These include dementia, elderly, mental health and palliative care, while also specialising in helping younger adults with special needs.

HSC Nursing and Healthcare

HSC Nursing & Healthcare Services offers a recruitment service to healthcare providers.  They are proud to be able to offer a personal and high quality service to both the recruiters, individual nurses and healthcare professionals on their register. The fields of nursing practice most relevant to their recruitment needs are: RNs, RMNs, HCAs.
