The Western General Hospital warmly invites you to our open days. We will be hosting these days to showcase what the Western General & St. John’s Hospitals have to offer, and facilitating tours of our clinical areas. We will be interviewing throughout the day if you have been shortlisted and invited, to appoint you into a range of our exciting wards and departments. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to deliver quality person centred care for our patients, and who are looking to start and excel in their nursing career”.

  • Open Day 1 Thursday 25th May 2017, 9am – 4pm: Nursing Band 5 Recruitment for Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. Submit your application via SHOW by Midnight Tuesday 16th May
  • Open Day 2 Monday 10th July 2017, 9am – 4pm: Nursing Band 5 Recruitment for St. John’s Hospital, Livingston. Submit your application via SHOW by Friday 30th June.

The Reference Number for both Open Days is: LOTH/GENERIC/ACUTE/B5/OPEN17.

On the Day of the Interview
All applicants will be asked to complete the relevant PVG (previously Disclosure Scotland) documentation and an Occupational Health screening (OHS) form. Whilst you are onsite one of the Recruitment Co-ordinators will check your ID and eligibility to work documentation (see below) and will check these against the information you enter on the PVG form and will scan / copy those required for use in the recruitment process.

The information that is contained in both the PVG and OHS forms will only be used if you are successful at interview; if this is not the case both documents will be destroyed confidentially.

For information, checks received from PVG will only be available to the recruiting manager and to the recruitment administration staff. This will be retained within the Recruitment & Administration Office for a maximum of 6 months.
