You’ve seen TV subtitles before – at home, in the gym or at the office. Have you ever wondered how they’re done, or who exactly does them? We are Ericsson’s Broadcast and Media Services group and as part of a leading global organisation, we specialise in the delivery of digital content through a variety of multimedia platforms.

We connect deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers to thousands of hours of TV programmes through real-time and pre-recorded subtitles. We also offer a live and pre-recorded signing service, and an audio-description service for blind and partially-sighted audiences. With clients including the BBC, Sky, Channel 4, Channel 5, BT Sport and UKTV, we’re market leaders in Access Services. We have UK subtitling offices in London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff and Belfast.

We want to encourage job applications from graduates and soon-to-be graduates over the coming months. If you have an interest in news, sport and current affairs, are meticulous with grammar, can hit deadlines and balance an ever-changing workload – all while keeping a cool head under pressure – we’d love to show you what we do and how we work with broadcasters.

We’re offering prospective applicants the chance to spend time shadowing subtitlers and getting to know our operations at the following open-day events in February and March 2017:

GLASGOW OFFICE:
Friday 24th February: 2:45pm – 6:15pm
Monday 20th March: 2:45pm – 6:15pm

To book a place, or for more information, please send an email to:

dan.cooper-gavin@ericsson.com

State which event you wish to attend – there is no attendance fee, but places are very limited, and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please note that these events are specifically intended for students who are interested in applying for a full-time vacancy with us in the coming months. Applicants are required to have an excellent command of the English language and a strong knowledge of UK current affairs and culture. We produce English-language subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing – we don’t produce foreign-language subtitles. Due to high demand, please do everything in your power to attend if you are allocated a place. If unforeseen circumstances mean you have to cancel, please contact us ASAP so we can reallocate your place.
