Career conversation into…. Careerwise – a work placement scheme for females studying STEM

Careerwise provides valuable paid placement opportunities for women studying science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) at Scottish Universities and Colleges. Placements are arranged in some of Scotland’s key sectors including energy, engineering, manufacturing, life science and technology and take place between June and August each year.

Placements play a crucial role in shaping students’ career intentions. Only 27% of female STEM graduates work in the sector they are qualified in. Research shows that women who undertake a placement during their studies are more likely to pursue a STEM career.

To apply for a Careerwise work placement students must be:

• Female
• Matriculated at a Scottish University
• Studying a science, technology, engineering or maths related subject
• Eligible to work in the UK

To get a chance to talk to Equate Scotland representatives about the Careerwise scheme with over 20 paid placement opportunities in science, technology, engineering and maths, come along to our Career Conversation event on the 3rd of March. No need to book a place, simp,y come along on the day.
