British Council China Career Development Workshop & Mini Job Fair


The British Council, operating in China as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy, will be running a career development event in Edinburgh on the 7th of November open to all Chinese students studying in the UK. This workshop will give you an insight into the current job market in China and practical guidance on job hunting and career development.

The British Council have teamed up with the Highway Career Services Co. Ltd, a professional overseas talent career service company, to invite well known businesses to take part in the event, you will receive professional advice from senior HR specialists, gain first hand recruitment information from businesses and learn about the best opportunities for career development.

There will be HR specialists talking about the current employment market situation in China. They will cover aspects of recruitment, job hunting skills and the hottest industries and directions.

Senior HR specialists:

  • Deng Jianxiu: HR Director of Tecent (Media and Game)
  • Piao Junhong: CEO and Co-founder of Gearpi
  • He Qingrong: Senior Director of International Cooperation of New Oriental Education & Technology Group

In addition, there are several of the top recruitment companies participating in the event. This will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to understand and discuss the requirements of China’s domestic employment market and provide a wealth of employment opportunities.

Students who are interested in applying can send their CVs to before 3rd November for an interview opportunity in the UK. Shortlisted students will be informed by the recruiter to follow interview arrangements accordingly.
