Skills Development Scotland launched the Energy Skills challenge Fund in August as a means of supporting the attraction of new people to the Energy sector.  The fund is intended to create additional training opportunities in response to employer demand from this sector for new entrants.

 •             100 graduates to be supported through the contract

•             available for individuals across the Central Belt of Scotland

Graduates should:-

 •             have graduated from Higher Education in the last two years and have not secured full time employment in the energy sector

•             have an evidenced experience from another sector which can be shown to provide skills and experience transferable to the energy sector e.g. construction, manufacturing, project management and customer service.

The 2 week course starts on 4th March in Glasgow and its aim is to provide an understanding of the systems and procedures related to working in the energy sector. 5 modules covers various aspects of the energy industry:

  • Introduction to Renewables
  • Understanding Renewable technologies
  • Industry Specific Skills
