The Mountbatten New York Internship Programme – new eligibility

As recruitment begins for the next intake – August 2011 – there is a new US visa category (available only for August), which should prove enormously beneficial for finalist students perhaps struggling to meet the visa regulated work experience requirement of the programme.

Normally, applicants must provide proof of a minimum of one year of work experience outside the United States in a field / industry related to the type of internship they would like to pursue in New York.

However, for the August 2011 intake only, applicants with less than one year of work experience may be eligible for the new “intern” category visa if the following three criteria are all met:

  1. Their official graduation date falls between 28 August 2010 and 29 August 2011
  2. They hold a business-related degree (see website for more information)
  3. They have a minimum of three months of administrative / office based work experience in any industry

It is hoped that this will open up opportunities for many final-year students who may not have considered Mountbatten possible before!
